Dominic Albanese elected as new trusteeAt the Museum's board meeting in August, Dominic Albanese was elected as a new trustee. At the Annual Meeting on November 14, the membership will have the opportunity to re-elect him for a three-year term. Dominic brings to the board a wealth of financial and fundraising experience along with a knowledge of Shaker heritage. He is a lifelong resident and a third-generation resident of the Town of Enfield. His family lived on the 20-acre farm that belonged to the late Ann Tarney, whose family was close friends with the Shakers. As a boy, Dominic first learned about the Shakers from Ann. Today, Dominic works for Dartmouth Medical School at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital, his place of employment for the past 10 years. He reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and is responsible for budgets and human resources for the Advancement Office, as well as gift recording, IT and research and records. Dominic served on the Museum's board of trustees when Sarah Saville Shaffer was executive director of the organization. In those days, the Museum's center of operations was the Laundry/Dairy building. Dominic served on the Town of Enfield's Selectboard for four years and the Town's Budget Committee for 12 years. He also served on the Enfield Village Association board. Dominic's other interests are the medieval and imperial periods of Russian history. Enfield Shaker Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational institution dedicated to interpreting and preserving the complex history of the Enfield Shaker Village and the Missionaries of LaSalette. |
